报告摘要：
Combinatorial optimisation problems appear in many real world applications in management and business sectors. This seminar presents research developments of evolutionary and metaheuristic algorithms for some example applications including transport scheduling, personnel scheduling and network routing, etc. Followed by these examples, advances in automated algorithm design, supported by machine learning, will also be briefly discussed.

报告人简介：
Dr. Rong Qu is an Associated Professor at the University of Nottingham. Her main research interests include the modelling and optimisation for automated algorithm design, supported by evolutionary algorithms and machine learning across operational research and artificial intelligence, and their hybridisations. Dr. Qu is an Associate Editor at EAAI, IEEE TEVC, JORS, PeerJ and IEEE CIM. She is an IEEE Senior Member since 2012, and has been awarded The 2022 Royal Society Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowship.
